How often to wash windows

The schedule depends on who touches the glass, which way it faces, and the season. These are the intervals that actually show up on the route from Ogden to Provo.

A commercial storefront with floor-to-ceiling glass and a double-door entry.

Storefronts

A storefront people touch wants a short interval. Weekly is common. Every other week still works for a front that is not on a crowded sidewalk. Wait a month and the door glass looks closed even when the shop is open.

The ground floor gets dirty faster than the panes above it. If you only pay attention to one line of glass, make it the one at eye level.

Offices

Offices usually go longer than retail. Monthly is a solid default for an entry and the lobby glass. A building that faces a dusty road, or a lobby everyone cuts through, may want twice a month.

Upper floors show weather more than fingerprints. Inversion season on the Wasatch Front puts a film on exterior glass that a summer rain does not rinse off. Winter is not a reason to skip the outside. It is often the reason it looks dull.

Houses

Most homes from Ogden to Provo do well with a spring wash and a fall wash. Add a visit in summer if the west side of the house faces the valley, if sprinklers hit the ground floor, or if bugs film the glass.

New construction is its own first visit. Dust in the tracks and film on the pane are not a maintenance wash. Say the house is new when you call.
